XMPlay is an easily configurable music player that works with a multitude of formats in order for users to benefit from uninterrupted playback even if they have files that come in multiple formats. The classic formats such as MP3, WAV and OGG are supported but so are MOD files, for example. The latter ones have special settings related to instruments and these elements can be edited and exported to a new file.

XMPlay has a simple interface and it keeps itself simple in the main window. However, there are a lot of tweaks available in the menu and users can easily add effects and change the equalizer using various presets or by creating a custom one. As people do not enjoy gaps between songs, this app actively scans the current playing file and it links it with the next one so that no dead times appear.

XMPlay works not only with local files but also with live streams or songs streamed from FTP servers. Multi-channel output is supported and it proves to be useful for high-end sound hardware owners. Several plugins are available for this app and all of them can be easily installed and the same can be said about uninstalling them, as it is just a matter of copy and paste.
