Smile Box is a digital scrap booking software that has hatched only recently but looks very promising. It has minor defects but compensates them with excellent features.

The user interface is extremely friendly. The software can import music, video and image files from the user’s disk. It cannot import anything else. Smile Box simplifies the concept of scrapbooking. In the first step the user selects a design to start with. It could be user defined or can be used from the software’s gallery. In the second step, the user adds the images and music files and sets the transition speeds. He can add appropriate titles to the scrap book as well. In the third step, the user is allowed to preview the scrap book with all its features. An advertisement is placed beside the project in case of the free version of the software. In the final step, the user can choose to either print the scrapbook or write it to a DVD. It can be shared on popular social networking sites too.

A drawback of this software is the lag time. The menus take some time to load. The support and documentation fails to impress too. Though they maintain social networking profiles and blogs, these are not interactive in nature. Overall it is a great tool for the purpose it serves.
