Virtual Audio Streaming

Virtual Audio Streaming is an interesting tool that will create a virtual sound card onto the computer in order to increase playback performance of audio files. However, users should take note that the application still needs a standard sound card present inside the computer, as it will perform as a wrapper for it and it will provide enhancements for the basic functions of the hardware piece. Streaming audio and also recording at the same time is now easier and it can be done with various devices that can be even external devices which can be connected to the computer.

The interface of the application is good, although there is room for improvements, but overall things are intuitive. Even if a user cannot find his way around the various features, which range from basic to advanced ones, he can consult the Help file for more information. The tool itself provides guidelines on how to set it as the standard playback device – the process is optional and reversible, but in order to maximize the performance of the application, it should be done. If the tool is minimized, it will go in the task bar from where it can be easily restored.

The system tray of the tool is nicely designed and allows users to make use of different features, so they can easily switch between a recording and a playback device. As a device is connected to the computer, the toll will only require a couple of seconds in order to recognize it and add it to the list. The freeware version of the application also has a watermark that will be present on the audio files and if people find it distracting, they can purchase the full version of the software, although there are not too many features that are unlocked this way.
