UltraEdit is a text editor designed to provide a lot of different options to users that have to edit a variety of files which might even contain programming language content. A lot of different languages are supported and syntax highlighting is available and editable. The dark interface of the app is pleasing to the eye and there are a few other color schemes that can be used.

UltraEdit is able to work with large files, unlike many other text editors. They usually stutter or crash when big files are opened but this tool is able to open text files that are even larger than 4 GB. This is because the application is designed to be disk based. A spell checker tool is provided and users can also search and replace different terms throughout the document.

UltraEdit also makes use of a FTP client in order for users to edit remotely located files. Proxy servers can be configured for the connection and encryption keys are used to protect content. The file can have its toolbars arranged, depending on the user’s needs. Users can quickly access the latest open files and they can work with multiple text documents at once, thanks to the tabbed interface.
