SoftPerfect Personal Firewall might be a freeware application, but it manages to provide support to users who need protection against internet threats. People can easily configure the utility in order to work at the optimal parameters and they have to choose between specific levels of security or customized ones. Basically, the tool provides access to three different security levels.

SoftPerfect Personal Firewall is able to work with custom rules, too. Multiple security profiles can be created so that users are protected while performing different actions. Any suspicious behavior of applications is monitored and blocked while the user receives a notification on the screen. From there on, he can take action and block the item or remove the restriction, if the event was a false positive.

In order to prevent such happenings, SoftPerfect Personal Firewall is able to work with white lists. This way, users can add their trusted apps on such a list and the utility will ignore them. Rules can be exported into an XML format and they can be later imported on another computer that runs the same utility.
