Shadow Warrior is a popular first person shooter video game. 3D Realms developed this game. It was released by GT Interactive on May 13, 1997. Build Engine by Ken Silverman was used to develop this game. A room-over-room situation was provided. Other than this, voxels were also introduced and sprites as weapons were not used. All the inventory items were usable along with transparent water. There are also assorted vehicles to drive and climbable ladders.

A tongue in Cheek humor is emphasized along with ultra-violent and sexual themes. This is done in a less blatant manner than Duke Nuken 3D. On April 1 2005, the source code was released by 3D realms under the GPL engine. However, Devolver Digital announced that the game would be free and could be used for a limited time on online stream. The copies of the stream were offered for free forever.

The protagonist could navigate through three dimension environment or different levels. There are enemies and the player uses Katana to kill them. Puzzles are also important part of the game, which needs to be solved before progressing to another level. This game is quite ambitious. The vehicles and the turrets are the best features of this game and has multiple firing mode, which makes the game interesting to play and addictive amongst its users.
