NoScript is a browser extension that Mozilla users will be grateful to have installed on their computers if they want to remove intrusive advertisements from their usual browsing experience. The tool has two main targets: Flash and JavaScript elements that are recognized as advertisements from various websites. This utility is installed really simple, just like any other extension of the browser.

NoScript features a toolbar that can be added to the browser in order to keep track of the advertisements blocked on each visited website. This is useful for simple statistics, although it can be disabled. This way, the extension will do its job in the background. By default, the app is configured to block advertisements from every website but this can be changed within seconds in the options menu.

NoScript allows users to make use of a whitelist in order to add certain websites that are allowed to execute JavaScript and Flash scripts and load advertisements. Moreover, the extension can be disabled temporarily, for predetermined amount of times or for the duration of an ongoing browsing session. Even whitelisted websites are still scanned and when potentially harmful elements are loaded, the application will block them and the user will be informed about this issue.
