Norton Ghost is an application designed by Symantec for users who need to protect files, folders and whole partitions by creating backups. There is the possibility to create these backups with a minimum amount of resource usage and because the utility makes use of intuitive tools in order to work, users can easily save files within minutes.

Norton Ghost provides support for multiple destinations for backups and it allows users to save their data on Blu-Ray drives. This way, they can store up to 50 GB of backup data at once, without having to use the space of the hard drive. When it comes to smaller backups, they can also be sent to different locations on the internet and then recovered at a later point. Files can be encrypted in order to keep data secure.

Norton Ghost allows users to create a backup schedule based on different events or relying solely on time intervals. This way, backups can be performed automatically without the user’s influence on the tool. Files are automatically compressed when they are added to the backup process so that the resulting image file is as small as possible. There is also the possibility to create backups and restorations of system files and applications.
