Multi Commander is a file management solution for users who want something better than Windows Explorer. In some cases, it can fully replace the functionality of the standard manager integrated within the operating system and thanks to its simple interface, novices and professionals can access its features with ease. There are four areas within the interface, the upper toolbar, the directory tree list within the sidebar and two main windows for two folders.

Multi Commander is able to work with two folders that can be opened in parallel so that users have the possibility to quickly move files between the two paths. They can either cut or copy the needed files and they can do this with the aid of the classic shortcuts, which are supported. They can also drag and drop files from one folder to the other and the results will be the same. A progress bar is displayed while files are moved and an estimation of the remaining time also appears.

Multi Commander features support for images, too. Thus, users can switch from the classic list view to a thumbnail view in order to see previews of images within a folder. The application also has a file search tool added within so that users can find the needed files by providing part of their name and a path, which can be a single directory or a whole partition.
