JFBChat

For those that want a really simple chat client that can integrate with Facebook, JFBChat is one of the best possible answers. The tool has been written in Java, hence its name, and users can easily find their way through the few available screens. A secure connection allows users to login into the tool and have the contact list brought into the main window of the app.

JFBChat uses a low amount of resources and it goes into the system tray, providing instant notifications whenever new messages are received. Users can then bring the chat window to the screen and they can respond to the message. However, they can also start a conversation by clicking on one’s name in the contacts list. Offline contacts are grouped separately so users know who can they talk to.

JFBChat can also bring avatars to the chat box and a simple restart of the app is required for this function to be available. Users can change the notification sound with a custom one if they want to or they can disable it altogether. Emoticons are supported by the tool and if they are sent to the other participant, he will be able to see them with no problems at all.
