Inkscape is an open source vector graphic editor similar to Adobe Illustrator, Xara X and CorelDraw. It uses W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) as default file format. Supported SVG features include paths, text, shapes, markers, alpha blending, clones, transforms, patterns, gradients and grouping. You can copy, cut or paste the objects using a clipboard. According to the creators of Inkscape, interface consistency and usability is one one of their main priorities.
The editor also offers node editing, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, complex path operations, layers, flowed text, direct XML editing and creative common meta-data. Overall, Inkscape is a convenient drawing tool fully loaded with SVG, CSS and XML standards.
