ImgBurn is a powerful yet freeware application that allows users to burn various files to discs. Besides the tool, the only other requirement is a compatible CD, DVD or BD burner. With the aid of this tool, users can easily create all kinds of discs: movie discs can be created and viewed on different devices, but operating systems can also be installed from bootable discs burnt with this app. The software app covers the majority of needs that might appear when a user has to burn discs and there are different customizable options.

The interface is simple and allows quick access to the main disc types that can be created, but more in-depth options are available in the menus displayed in the upper area of the screen. An additional tool can allow access to the interesting Discovery tool – this is a real time app that runs along the burner and constantly checks the quality of a disc that has content being written on it. The application quickly scans a blank disc in order to see its maximum writing speed and capacity and a test is available in order to check if the disc can be used for a full writing process.

Data can be verified after the disc has been created, but this is an optional feature, along with others of the application. However, they are all intended to provide a maximum quality output product. If a disc is compatible, it can also be erased with the aid of the application and this is a process that will take a few minutes. Image files such as CUE, MDF and MDS can also be created using this tool. Blu-Rays are not so new in the market, but they are not covered up by other burning tools; ImgBurn, however, provides maximum compatibility in the domain of Blu-Ray discs.
