DownloadX ActiveX Download Control is a tool that is distributed freely and it is fully compatible with both Internet and Intranet downloads, allowing users to better manage their downloading files with ease. Browsers have their own download managers but all of them have one big issue. These browser features do not allow users to continue downloads after they were interrupted because of certain reasons and if the internet connection is lost, the download will have to be restarted. However, this simple tool has the advantage of resuming cancelled downloads with just one mouse click.

This application comes as a browser extension and it is compatible with all of the major tools of this kind. The installation process is simple and afterwards, a button will be placed in the upper area of the browser’s interface, allowing users to open the download list and access various options. The tool will be automatically assigned as the standard download method and this prevents users from manually choosing such an option for each download. The resuming feature works flawlessly, regardless of the internet connection and its type, wired or wireless. The major network protocols are fully supported by the add-on and some of them are HTTP, HTTPS and, of course, FTP.

Proxy servers are also compatible with the application and the download speed will still remain in good parameters. The main interface of the application features the download list and for each file, it also shows a progress bar. Along the bar, the user will be able to see the download speed and he will also see an estimation of the remaining time left for the download to complete. There are three buttons in the lower left area o the interface and they allow the user to pause or remove downloads from the list, while he can add others with the third button.
