ClaroRead is a screen reader software. It lacks in certain departments that does not make it the top choice for a screen reader software. It however scores with innovative features that are embedded right into its system. ClaroRead is a strange combination. It does not take care of the basics but offers advanced services like few others.

There is an option to alter the pronunciation of the words being announced. A font has been included in the package called Tiresias. It makes the words on the screen more readable than ever. There is another feature that you find in most smartphones and ordinary phones too – predictive text input. When using a word processor, the software tries to guess what you are about to type and provides suggestions. There is also an option to save in audio files the text being read out on the screen. You can send it to iTunes too to be synced to your device later.

The software does not have hotkeys making the mouse the only available choice for navigation. You must press the Ctrl key along with the mouse button for the software to read out a word. It also reads out the meaning of the word from a dictionary which can be irksome at times. Hence, it does have its little shortcomings, yet it is a powerful tool.
