Chit Chat for Facebook is a small application that allows Facebook users to bring their chat boxes right on the desktop, without having to keep a browser window open at all times to see new messages. The interface of this utility is similar to that of any other chat client and it provides easy access to the main functions. In the main window, users will be able to see all of the online Facebook friends and upon double clicking one’s name, a new chat window will open.

The chat box of Chit Chat for Facebook is rather plain, as Facebook does not support custom styles, but written emoticons can be still seen by the other person. However, a time stamp is available and users are informed whenever they receive a new message and the chat window is out of focus. A notification appears in the lower right corner of the screen and it is accompanied by a sound. These two options can be modified in the Preferences menu.

Chit Chat for Facebook can be used with a Proxy server for increased security and this element can be configured in the options of the utility. Settings can also be exported and then imported for later use.
